Work description
The work “Topography of Perception” describes the tension inherent in social coexistence, which is characterized by an unstable structure of order, displacement, and experience.
Based on a modular, color-differentiated grid reminiscent of a spiral-shaped, endlessly recurring loop, an image space is organized that shifts, overlaps, and opens up in depth.
The structure refers to systems of order—digital pixels, cartographic grids—and at the same time evokes a social fabric. Individual elements detached from their context mark moments of disruption and the reformation of spatial relationships. Breaks within these orders become visible and open up interpretations of access or exclusion to spaces that we inhabit, traverse, and experience.
The socially coded pictorial space in the work Topography of Perception remains deliberately open and unfinished. It shows how order arises and collapses, making it clear that processes of social transformation must be questioned and negotiated.
